• Aren’t those wee shetland ponies so sweet?! If I were an animal, that’s what I would want to be: you can’t run fast or fly, but boy can you rock a sweater and stumpy legs. They are dressed up in their fancy cardies to celebrate The Year of Natural Scotland.

• Want to know what Google street views looked like 100 years ago?

• Kohl’s is collaborating with Derek Lam (YIPPEEE!) this spring. Want a cherry to put on top of that good-news sundae? Use promo code TENFORBLOG to get 10% off your Kohl’s purchases through March 9. Sweet!

• A delicious food blog written by siblings who live far apart, but blog together (sound familiar?)

• A heartwarming story about American Girl Doll Kirsten. Did you guys have an AGD growing up? Cath had Kirsten and I had Samantha.

• Have you seen Before Sunrise and Before Sunset? How can this movie not be wonderful?

• A twist on the denim button-up.

• What girl doesn’t want a pair of Valentino studded pumps? Too bad they’re so expensive! Now you can make your own!

AsianCajuns Downton Abbey mask

How many of you watched the season premiere of Downton Abbey last Sunday? Lar’s mask is from a friend who got to go see the premiere a few weeks ago in Atlanta – so jealous! For those you who are fans of the show, take a look at this awesomely brilliant Tumblr featuring Edith and her googly eyes: http://edithwithgooglyeyes.tumblr.com/

When not engrossed in the gloriousness that is Downton Abbey, here’s a few things that we’re loving this week:

• Wouldn’t it be so cool to drink in Britain’s oldest pub?! Now which one is it?

• Ethically made clothing up to 60% off!

• The best place to learn some photoshop magic for your blog.

• DIY antiqued mercury mirror glass tutorial.

52 vintage dresses. One for every Sunday of the year.

• Goat 4 Sale: best Doritos commercial ever!

• Breathtaking travel photographs.

On the to do list for this weekend. . . I’ll be running walking with Toby.

• DIY VHS case clutch. Ingenious.

• Period costume dramas tour. Yes please.

Happy Friday, lovely readers! Lar is going to be in Atlanta in less than 24 hours! I’m so excited I can’t sleep, so I’m writing this post to past the time. I hope you enjoy the links!

• The Warby Parker Class Trip is in Atlanta!

• Love the Ikea Monkey! Here he is as Margot Tenenbaum.

• A modern day Pride and Prejudice TV show? Jennifer Love Hewitt produced? Say what now?

• Anderson Cooper tries out meggings – not really, but it’s funny.

• A little tidbit of what to expect with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as the Golden Globe hosts.

• Thank you, Refinery 29, for this lazy girl’s detox guide – I’m going to need it this holiday season.

• How to: Break in leather shoes

• Did anyone catch the Geminid meteor shower last night/this morning? I saw my first two meteors ever!! If you live in a city and another meteor shower comes around, read these tips to prepare for optimal viewing enjoyment.

• I’ll be tweeting/Instagraming pics of me and Lar tonight!

If you’re in Atlanta this weekend, make sure to come to Whiskey Park at the W in midtown. Jessica, Teodora, Donna and I are hosting a vintage-Hollywood-glamour-themed evening. I think I’m going to wear this outfit, but I have no idea how to do my hair. I wish I could do something like this.

• The Little Black Dress has been around for 5,000 years.

• Did you hear about the Chanel fashion show in a Scottish castle this week? It wasn’t far from Edinburgh. I think Lar’s invite must have gotten lost in the mail.

Campbell’s soup that hipsters can get behind.

• Beautiful dip dye beads.

• The Honey Badger cocktail

• The countdown for the second season of Girls has begun!

• Lar mentioned that H&M is taking the most steps toward more ethical consuming than other fast fashion chain, and now they’ve taken one more step (in the right direction): recycle your old clothes at H&M starting in February — woohoo!

• If you still aren’t convinced that  garment workers’ rights should be something you need to worry about, read this article from yesterday’s New York Times about last month’s factory fire in Bangladesh.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Me and some amazing fellow Atlanta fashion/style/beauty bloggers at the Lenox Mall Club Monaco grand opening a few weeks ago. Left to right: Jessica of My Style Vita, Cathy of Poor Little It Girl, Ashley of Witty and Pretty and Mattie of Mattiologie – a me.

• Ever since I made this pom pom holiday garland last weekend, I’ve gone a little pom pom crazy. I’m thinking of making this pom pom bag charm.

These fashion posters by Garance are going on my Christmas wish list.

Put a tree on it.

• The perfect holiday stationary.

• Has anyone read Grace Coddington’s memoir yet? I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. Listen to her interview on Fresh Air here.

• I need this for my iPhone. I think it will get me out of bed so much better than my boring phone alarm.

• Getting inspired for the holiday season!

• Like AsianCajuns on Facebook. I promise that Lar and I are getting better at updating it!

• A couple of us Atlanta style bloggers are hosting Vintage Saturday at Whiskey Park next Saturday, Dec. 8. Stay tuned for more info.

Post-Turkey Link Love: Mary Kay Andrews

This post title could also be I GOT TO DESIGN THE COVER FOR A NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR!!!! But I didn’t want to put you off with a title in screaming caps and too many exclamation points — but that’s how I feel! (Exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point!!!!).

More importantly, Fatal Fruitcake also happens to be a delicious short story to get you in the holiday spirit. And if you are like Cath and I, instead of braving the mass consumerism happening in stores today, we prefer to contentedly rub our post-turkey consumption bellies and curl up on the couch with a good book.

To get your hands on a copy of this short story, you can get the ebook version on amazon.com. For you local Atlantans, you’ll see copies at your local book stores. Mary Kay Andrews is donating part of the profits to the Red Cross in aide of those hit by Hurricane Sandy.

Hope you guys had a lovely Turkey day! Let me know if you read the story — I wanted fruitcake after, which I think is not the lesson I was supposed to learn.

This is what I look like when I walk my dogs. . . I wish!

Hopefully this weekend I’ll get some good quality dog walking in since the weather is supposed to be nice. I’m also planning on preparing my stomach for Thanksgiving by attending this 100 Mile Dinner on Sunday. I can’t wait! What a great way to begin a week of overeating!

• Want to see what it’s like to live in a historic castle, tower or manor home in the UK? Oh and it won’t cost you an arm-and-a-leg! Lar and Matt are renting a Landmark Trust house with friends next week for Thanksgiving.

• Did you know the man who owns Zara is the third richest person in the world? And did you know that Zara massively outsells H&M, Topshop and all the other high street shops? Read the whys and hows here (Nytimes).

• We’re still on the hunt for the best every-day make-up tutorial. We like this one.

• Need a little tehehe at the end of this long week? Visit the Black Acre Brewing page and click “I’m under 21” (SFW, but there’s music. awesome music).

Michael Stars sunglasses • J.Crew top and jeans • Office shoes
I wore this outfit last weekend to the Decatur Wine Festival. Absolutely no coat – not even a jacket – needed in November. This weekend is supposed to be equally as warm (I don’t mean to rub it in, Lar!). I almost wish I hadn’t packed away my summer clothes.

Here’s a few links to get you into the weekend:

Waterproof your TOMS

• One of my favorite characters on TV

• Beautiful glitter-dipped feather DIY

• Wish I could experience this real Hitchcock Hallway in person.

• Love the simplicity of these DIY metal cone lanterns

Navy nails

• The perfect Thanksgiving table

• I want these for my desk at work.

This weekend is going to be a busy one, but I’m hoping I can find time to make these delicious-looking Pumpkin Chocolate Whoopie Pies.

• I think Lar and I have mentioned once or twice on this blog that we’re huge Wizard of Oz fans. Will someone please buy us this Dorothy dress?

Kanye Wes Anderson Tumblr. It’s brilliant.

• Go as your favorite Downton Abbey character this Halloween.

• The fact that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting the Golden Globes means I might actually watch it this year. Here are 17 other things they should be in charge of.

• I was so giddy when Lar told me she started watching Twin Peaks – don’t worry I’ve warned her that the second season is not as good as the first. I’m tempted to buy her this Bookhouse Boys shirt.

• Along with Home Alone, Little Women and Lovely Actually, I love watching this film during the holidays.

• Magical light installations.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Like my positive image? It reminds me of these magnets (this one is my favorite). The photo is from last weekend, but I’m hoping to get some more dog walking time in with Toby this weekend. The weather has been perfect in Atlanta for the past few weeks – you need a jacket in the mornings and evenings but not during the day – my absolute favorite type of weather.

Other plans for the weekend include volunteering at the Decatur Craft Beer Festival, stuffing myself full of my mom’s gumbo, roasting s’mores at a bonfire, and. . . school work (boo hiss).

Tonight I’m going to a preview of Lady Foot Locker’s Training C.A.M.P. taking place at Lenox Mall this Saturday. I’ll be tweeting and instagraming from the event so make sure to follow along. We’ll see how much the preview workout kicks my butt. Considering that I haven’t seriously worked out since I got back from Minneapolis, I guarantee I’ll have some entertaining photos of me huffing and puffing on IG before the night is over. If you want more info about the event on Saturday visit the Lady Foot Locker Facebook page.

For those of you who aren’t in the Atlanta area and/or can’t make it to Lenox Mall on Saturday, check out these few links that Lar and I have found entertaining this week:

You Don’t Have to Be Pretty

• A great tutorial for an elegant hairdo.

Shop a Blogger’s Closet in Atlanta this Saturday!

• Getting up on our soapbox for a minute and drawing the line for reproductive rights, plus loving Ashely’s Feminist Fridays

• A documentary for Arrested Development fans –  and there’s going to be a 4th season!!

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel is showing at Tara in Atlanta this weekend

• Cannot wait for the Narciso Rodriguez collection at Kohls – this is just one of my favorite looks.

• A hilarious take on presidential debate style.

• So sweet: Goldilocks & The Three Bears DIY costumes

• The coolest 25 square meter cabin in Sweden
