A Spring Weekend in Atlanta

I’ve been pretty annoyed with Atlanta’s spring weather lately. We’ll have one gorgeous, warm, sunny day followed by a week of cold, drizzly days. This weekend isn’t going to be too much better – high in the low 60s (that’s cold for this time of year in Atlanta) and rain on Sunday.

Since I won’t have a great weather weekend, I’m going to make my own pretend weekend from photos that I’ve taken with my phone throughout the past few weeks on days that had perfect spring weather.

Eating brunch at Sun in My Belly with Lar (she’s wearing a dress from Target, the bottom half has a floral pattern on it).

I approve of any place that serves water in mason jars and long, skinny sugar packets always remind me of Europe.

My bf has about seven jobs and one of them is photographer. A few weekends ago he took some head shots for our friend in East Atlanta Village.

I use to study at Joe’s in EAV all them time in college. It’s the type of place where you share tables with strangers when it becomes too crowded and kind of reminds me of the Elephant House in Edinburgh. I couldn’t capture it in this shot of the ceiling, but God is reaching out for a cup of coffee.

My bf sitting outside of Sun in Belly (on a separate occasion).

So for my pretend spring weekend I’m taking two trips to Sun in My Belly, a photo-shoot in East Atlanta Village and coffee at Joe’s. Not too shabby! What do you guys have planned for the weekend (pretend or real)? I hope you’re having some real spring weather!

  1. Well, we’re having real spring weather if you consider real spring to be a little chilly and rainy. Which I kind of do, because how else are the flowers going to get the nutrients they need to grow? Oh wait, maybe the past five months of snow? Meh.

    🙂

We might go to a Wizards game. They’re the local professional soccer team and we have season tickets. If it’s not pouring.

  2. Right?! What’s up with this craziness! I do not know what to wear anymore to compensate, and the schizo weather has been kind of a constant all my life.

But mmmm Sun in my Belly is my favorite little brunch spot. I’ll have to check out Joe’s next time I’m over on that side of town. It looks like your pretend weekend was fab–hope your real one was just as good!

  3. I always love posts about the cafes bloggers like to hang out in all over the world. There’s just so many lovely ones. I’ve thrifted a really pretty blue Mason jar before at a fair and use it for flowers as I really can’t be bothered learning how to make jam and stuff!

  4. The weather’s been like that here in Nashville too.
I recently saw those skinny sugar packets for the first time and thought, “Wow! We’re in the future!” lol
I’m going to an art opening tomorrow and then a show afterward. xx

  5. I’m loving the water in glass mason jars too! For some reason it reminds me of something my [Asian] mom would do; she’s frugafabulous like that.

  6. Sounds like a pretty great pretend weekend! Whenever I’m at Joe’s and I don’t have anything to do, I stare at that painting and try to take in all the elements.
