Buy those Thigh-highs

Urban Oufitters ($228) vs. Jildor ($140) for the same exact shoe, my Jeffrey Campbell thigh-highs.

Now, why am I babbling about these shoes again? Because it shocks me that Urban marks their wares up like they do. I have always had a love/hate relationship with UO (the clothing design is great, but the quality for the marked-up price is less than mediocre). So I wanted to let you lovely readers know. if you are contemplating the thigh-high purchase, it seems Jildor is the way to go.*

*I’m not getting a commission form Jildor- I had never heard of them before my thigh-high search- but I hate that you guys might be scammed out of $88! Happy “thrifty” boot shopping!

  1. i’ll second that. not only do you look like a better model, but i really think the way you styled them is much better as well! thanks for looking out for your friends & readers. πŸ™‚

  2. I agree. Urban Outfitters is expensive and usually a rip off.

But I don’t think I could ever pull off the thigh high. Love it on you though.

  3. Ugh, this is why I dislike UO at times, too. Quality is not on par with their prices, for sure!

Don’t think I have the pizzazz to pull off the thigh-high look, though! πŸ™‚

  4. Too right! I bought a pair of foldover booties from Aldo – clearly the EXACT same pair – for $15 less than at UO. Glad you nabbed your boots for a bargain.

  5. man i am dying to get the perfect pair of thigh high flat boots. i hate this shopping diet that i am on! FML! LOL. anyways. thanks for the tip! i want the jeff campbell boots that are perforated. soooo hawt! and i want to get the chinese laundry trippin boots. i want so much! i wish i needed it then i can justify in buying it!

  6. WOW! That is an affordable price for thigh highs.U O should be ahsamed of themselves. Did you know they also steal ALOT from small designers? There is a whole website called “urbancounterfitters.com” its a sham! I NEVER shop there because I agree with what you said about their mediocre quality as well.

  7. i think everybody has a love/hate relationship with urban.i’ve been there on several occasions and seen shirts there (same material and “brand”) as some shirts i’ve seen at f21, but that’s mainly the licensed stuff.but still urban marks them up way too much. i think the last time i brought something from there at it’s regular price was last summer.

  8. I agree with you about UO. Having worked there, it is hard for me to buy things full price since I know how much they probably cost the company

  9. Oh urban outfitters!!! I’m glad you posted about this cause I was just about to get a pair from there! Thanks for saving me some moolah.

  10. I still can’t get over how high these boots are! And I so agree on UO. haven’t gotten anything from there in a long time because of their recent “we think we’re the shit” price increases. It used to be cheaper, no??

  11. Those Jeffrey Campbell camp strappy cage booties everyone was sporting last summer. when I snagged them from UO in October (they were sold out everywhere else), I got them at $149. The going rate everywhere else was $79-89. Isn’t that insane!

  12. yikes! and bummer. I bought the ones from Urban, but I do have to say that I’m a little disappointed other than the price being a bit steep. Mine have stretched out a bit and now I’m constantly having to pull them up. kiiiiinda annoying! thanks for the tip on the cheapies though!

  13. LOVE the boots and thanks for the heads up! Any suggestions for an even cheaper pair of thigh highs for those of us who are funemployed?

  14. That’s highway robbery! Oh but I still do heart Urban I’ll just be a little more cautious now when seeing JC shoes on there!

    xo, Becs

  15. There is a difference with the Jiltdor boots.they only have them in suede and micro fiber while UO has the leather ones. :-/

    1. Hi Rox, I looked into this because I thought the same thing at first, but the UO ones say “faux-leather”- n’est pas?

  16. I think because we don’t have access to Urban Outfitters here in Hawaii, I go craaaaaaaazzzzy whenever I visit one when I’m in the states The last time I was in one I spent a little over $500 and the online access doesn’t help either.

The boots look AMAZING on your lovely gams! πŸ™‚ Rockin’ it big time.
