I Won a Phillip Lim Bag!

Apart from a purple iMac in high school, this bag is by far the nicest thing I’ve ever won – ever! If you follow AsianCajuns on Twitter, Vine or Instagram – or if you’ve seen me this past week at all – you probably already know about this. Seriously, ever since this beautiful bag was shipped to my house, it hasn’t left my sight and if anyone comments on it, I blurt out, “It’saPhillipLimbag! Iwonit!!!!!” It’s buttery soft and super versatile.

So how did I get so lucky? I took part in a Keep.com contest a few weeks ago where I created a spring inspiration board around the Phillip Lim bag. I entitled it Spring is Bright! and posted everything that I would purchase for the spring if I had all the money in the world. The board is all about neutrals with pops of color. See the whole board here. Are you on Keep? If so, follow me and I’ll follow you back! If not, get on it already!

If you do happen to have all the money in the world, or at least $750 to spend on a bag, you can purchase it here on Shopbop.com.

I feel like now that I have a Phillip Lim bag, the designer and I are basically on a first name basis 🙂 And yes, I have a cellphone charm!

On an unrelated note, I spent Friday evening on a Google hangout hosted by Snapshop Fashion and Seven Autumn Leaves – it was so much fun! You can watch the hangout here.

Also, check out Pocket of Presh’s coverage on last week’s Rent the Runway event at the W in Buckhead that I attended. It was so great to see so many Atlanta style bloggers!

Have you ever used Rent the Runway? I’m thinking about renting a dress for an upcoming wedding. I’ll keep you all posted!

Dearest Lar,

I wish you could see my new bag in person! My only complaint? It’s so large that now I have an excuse to put everything but the kitchen sink in my purse. The other day it got so heavy that it left a giant indentation on my arm! I know, I know, first world problems.

I’m so glad we got to Skype twice this weekend. It always makes my day so much better when I get to “see” you!

xoxo, Cath

      1. i just feel like a giant in them. i’m still debating if i should wear them in the wedding i’m part of in a few weeks. the bride is REALLY TINY and i don’t want to look like a beast up there by her side. what to do, what to do?!?!?!

  1. Cath, ohhh lordy I love your bag and cannot believe you own such a beautiful piece of arm candy. I’m not sure I’ve even held a bag worth that much. It is much larger than I realized which I love, because it’s perfect as a work bag which means you can use it a lot more than you would have a weenier purse — but yes, beware the arm indentation. My current pleather Zara work purse does the same thing, but with a lot less buttery leather aplomb.

Those Kohl’s pumps that you and Diane both have are gorgeous! They make your legs look like they go on for miles. I would love to wear those here, but 1) the weather is only warm enough for bare legs 5 days of the year and 2) they do not look cobblestone friendly — unfortunately my office is on a cobblestone street with an uneven sidewalk skirting it.

Also, sheepish admission: I do not have an account on Keep. For some reason I get really overwhelmed looking at all the designer duds I can not afford. Charity shops seem to be my speed these days. I either have to stop traveling or stop eating in order to contemplate better clothes buying. Neither of those things seem likely — especially if traveling means I get to see you!

Hope you are having a good week with Phil — you guys look inseparable! Hope Troy isn’t the jealous type.

    1. Once we live in the same city together, you can borrow Phil whenever you want! That sounds weird, doesn’t it?

I don’t just post expensive things on Keep.com. It helps me keep (get it?) track of items I’ve seen and liked while window shopping online.

The Kohls pumps are definitely not cobblestone friendly. Usually when i wear them to work, i make sure I have a pair of flats with me too – just in case I have to do some serious walking.

      love you!

    1. Totally unintentional. I bought it a few weeks ago because it was on sale and now I wear it all the time with my bag 🙂

  2. The bag is beautiful and it looks beautiful hanging on your arm! I love winning things (I mean, who doesn’t). I won a Publix Easter coloring contest when I was 7. I got a whole basket of candy. My mom was thrilled

    1. Hahaha. I love it! I remember once Lar won a bunch of balloons at a father daughter dance when we were five and I was so jealous!

  3. Holy Designer Bag Envy! I cannot believe you won that! Lucky!

So nice meeting you at the RTR event! Hope to see you around Atlanta more often!

    xoxo,

    Laura

  4. LOVE the bag!!! So cute!!! And even better that it was a win – have you played the lottery this week? A quarter billion could buy you PLENTY of bags! 😉 (Also just FYI, i’m following you on instagram as my real self :))

  5. You are freakin’ jokin’ – that is AWESOME!!!!! I can’t believe I’ve missed out on seeing you win this thing – I’d shout it from the rooftops too!! And what a lovely bag it is. I’m on Keep.com, but honestly, haven’t used it to its fullest potential – guess I need to get on that and win me a stinkin’ designer bag somehow – HA!!! Congrats girl – looks good on ya!
