That Givenchy Bag
![]()
Do you remember that gorgeous black Givenchy bag from a few seasons ago? Mary Kate (or is that Ashley?) is wearing it in the photo below.

Well, me neither, but I found an awesome knock-off in NOLA. My Urban Outfitters purse had bitten the dust and I was carrying it around like an oversized clutch (visualize large football under arm) when I saw this vision in yellow. It wasn’t until I got home and was browsing Olsens Anonymous that I remembered drooling over this Olsen twin photo.

My version is obviously made of not-leather and the yellow makes it far more New Orleans than New York- but I love it! It’s huge and has plenty of room for books and candy and those other purse necessities.

It was $58 and also came in a beautiful teal. If you are interested contact Jackie’s in the French Quarter. They don’t have a website, but this link will get you their number.

Oh wow! Fantastic colours in your outfit. And the lemony colour is so scrumptious I feel like eating sorbet.
But what is that turban thing around the Olsen’s head? Is it a particularly fashionable sweatband for all the sweat generated from the daily Starbucks run?

Nice knock-off! The colour is so pretty. And I love the shirt dress, the cap and the sandals too…

that bag is super kute!! and way more you in the yellow than it would be in black!

I actually like yours better than the original! Yellow is all it takes to make me talk like that about knockoffs vs the real thing.

I love your “not leather” handbag! You’re such a cutie – have I told you that before? LOL, if that sounds creepy – I promise I’m not
I really love the sunny yellow, and I’m terrible at telling who’s who when they’re not standing next to one another…
Oh and I’m kind of in love with your sandals…except I have funky toes so I probably wouldn’t be able to rock those
p.s. I used a flat iron to make my hair like that…when it was much longer – about your length or longer even, I used my flat iron to curl it too – much prefer it to a curling iron.
Oh and your BF sounds a lot more normal than my huz

you look darling as can be. the cute little hat and the blue and yellow! So perfect. You can never go wrong with a sailor stripe dress.

It’s adorable in that yellow color.
Also: nice fish face

The resemblance between the bags is pretty uncanny! Sunny yellow is a difficult colour to pull off on such a big bag, but I think you’ve done a great job of styling your outfit here.

I’ve been slipping on the blog reading. If I hadn’t been, I would have known that ya’ll were in NOLA. I just got back from there last night where I met up with Jenny Wiese, LaTisha Cotto and Shanea Dangerfield. It sounds like we JUST missed each other…

I have been contracted to work on some of my husband’s latest graphic design/web design projects, and have come into a small sum of cash…
As a result, I have been searching for the perfect satchel/tote/shoulder bag like the Givenchy one above… I need one that won’t fall apart after daily use, and I’m quickly coming to the conclusion that I need to actually shell out the few hundred dollars for a quality bag… I’ve found a few at banana republic, piper lime and j. crew… I wish I had the lucky find as you, though.
Great outfit. Please shop for me, I will pay you. Kthx, bye. ^_^
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying your posts from NOLA. I have a few songs for you I think you’d like. Email me! xo

That is a brilliant knock-off… but i’m still lusting over MaryK/Ash (I don’t know either!)’s turban -WHY did I not stock up when they were everywhere a couple of years ago!!
You looks mighty fine too! Bisous
