Not Ethical, But Thrifty!

Just a quick post for Thursday – or pre-Friday as my friend Ali optimistically calls it.

I haven’t been as dedicated as Lar with the whole ethical-shopping thing, but since I’ve been trying to save up for my next trip to Scotland, I’ve be inadvertently more ethical.

For example? Everything I’m wearing in the photo below is at least a year old except for my phone. Not sure why I didn’t just put the phone down for these photos. . . hmmmmmm. . .

H&M blouse • American Apparel tank • Limited skirt • Dolce Vita shoes • AsianCajuns Name Neckalce

I try to wear my name necklace every chance I get since I know Lar wears her’s a lot in Scotland. As cheesy as it sounds it somehow makes me feel closer to my twinie.

Dear Lar,

So I may not be quite as ethical as you in the shopping department, but at least I’m trying to be more conscious about what I’m buying or not buying! And I did buy another pair of TOMs not too long ago. That’s ethical, no?

How often do you wear your name necklace? Sometimes I think it’s too informal for work, but that doesn’t usually stop me!

Oh! And I finally saw Moonrise Kingdom! Loved it. Isn’t the set design amazing?!

Can’t wait for our Skype chat this weekend.

xoxo, Cath

  1. Dear Cath,
I doooo wear my AsianCajun necklace a ton! I feel the same way, makes it feel like we aren’t an ocean apart. I love how classic and crisp you look in this outfit! I didn’t bring any white button-ups to Scotland and you are making me miss them!
And yes, loved the set design in Moonrise Kingdom! So glad you liked it. I can’t wait to chat this weekend! Hope class was good last night!
    xoxoxoxo,

  2. I love that you guys have matching necklaces. When my sister was abroad I wore a pair of earrings that were smaller but matched a pair I had bought her for a present. She wore hers a lot too so it made me feel close to her. It’s the little things.

  3. Ohhh, you look fab! Your hair looks super gorgeous, who do you go to? I need a snazzy new ‘do!

  4. you look amazing!! super cute necklace!!! i adore the bond you share with your sister, I have three sisters and I miss them so much!

    1. Thanks S. Singh. I’m sure other sisters can relate. I think it could be illegal for sisters to live far away from each other.

  5. I love the necklace. Cute enough! And wearing old clothes while looking great is always a SMART thing. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the extra moohlah in Scotland. I love those shoes.they are adorable. It looks like they lace up a bit, and can easily go from casual to dressy.

  6. I love your blouse and good for you wearing nothing younger than a year!!!

Also, I LOVED Moonrise Kingdom!!! I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson movies and it only made me love him even more. 🙂

  7. Super cute and stylish (including the phone), I can’t tell that it’s all a year old! I really like how sheer the blouse is!
