Do you remember when Lar wrote about Year Round Layers not too long ago? She made the point that it doesn’t really get warm enough in Edinburgh to not wear layers. The same can’t be said for Atlanta. It gets so hot here that you don’t feel like moving. So while Lar is still shivering every time she ventures outside, I’m sweating non-stop in shorts and a tank. . . unless I’m in the office. I’m cold in my office year round so even when it’s 85+ degrees outside, I still wear outfits like this:

It seems so counter-intuitive to wear a sweater to work in the middle of the Georgian summer, but the A/C is cranked up so high at the office that I have to pile on the layers – I even wore a scarf today!
I know, I know, first world problems. This is just a long way of explaining why I’m wearing a cardigan in the middle of the summer.
Speaking of summer, anyone going to the Decatur Beach Party this Friday?!

I’m so excited that you bought us tickets to go to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in August – now I just have to make sure to buy my plane ticket ;). What does one wear to the Tattoo? Too bad we don’t have kilts we can wear. We should have our own AsianCajuns tartan – use the colors from our blog and logo! Not at bad idea, no?

Try nude shoes w/your outfit instead of navy (not practial) or black- they will lengthen your leg. And love your Michele watch!
Great idea Mara! I have two pairs of nude heels – one pair need to get re-heeled and the other is too uncomfortable to wear to work. I think ultimately I’m being lazy!
Love the cardi!! And the watch! My office is the same way – I have on a sweater and a scarf right now 🙁 Such a shame – I have cute dresses that I can’t wear because I’ll freeze!! OH! Speaking of – what’s your take on dress length at the office? I see some SUPER short stuff around here – which I know is trendy right now, but in my opinion (that no one asks for), completely office inappropriate.
I suppose it all depends on the office, but I would never be comfortable wearing a skirt well above the knee. I like to think of myself as being open-minded and liberal, but I don’t like to see too much skin at the office.
That would be hilarious if you made up your own tartan to wear! I mean, if Madonna can have one, why can’t you??

I wish I had an excuse to wear a cardigan in the summer! I get so sick of the one-piece summer uniform. BTW I assume the Tattoo has nothing to do with the skin and ink kind.
