Getting Twin Haircuts

Cath and I have decided that enough is enough with our long hair. We’re hopping on the Alexa Chung bandwagon and clipping our hair just above our shoulders. The last time we had hair that short was 10+ years ago, and I don’t think we’ve had matching hair styles since this photo:

We’re going for the slightly longer disheveled bob (with long bangs). We might do the ombre highlights once we’ve mustered the courage to do the cut (our appointment is this Saturday afternoon). We’re going together for moral support, and hitting up my most favoritist hair stylist in all of Atlanta, Robin at Dada. She cuts hair like a dream. (Marcus at Soge is our man for color).

We’re hoping to look like this post-cut (including the extra 5 inches Alexa has on us- and those lovely eyes):

p.s. Alexa also happens to be our mix (dad is Chinese and her mom is Caucasian). So not exactly an AsianCajun, but an AsianBritain (?)
p.p.s. Speaking of British people/things. I have some news to share that has to do with my move and Britain (I unintentionally mislead you with that whole “I’m moving to the West Coast!” thing). more to come in the next post.

  1. You guys will look so cute with that cut! I can’t wait to see the photos. I used to have a somewhat similar cut but I’ve recently been going for the more even Cleopatra-style bob. The shaggier version is definitely very fun, though, and a dream to wash, dry, and style. 10 minutes, tops!

  2. OOOOH! I can’t wait to see what you guys end up doing! I have wanted to chop my hair off again, but this time I have to resist, especially because I’ve been growing my hair for 2 years, but the summer always defeats my best intentions. I’m sticking it out this time!

  3. I recently went short (the shortest my hair has ever been!) based on a similar bob hairstyle. I was nervous at first, but you guys will love it! And who needs long hair in the GA summer heat anyway?

  4. I think this would look really good! Do you have hair that’s got a bit of waviness to it naturally? (Somehow the Alexa wouldn’t look as good with stick-straight Asian hair, I imagine.)

  5. I’ve had long hair my entire life, with occasional moments of short hair cuts. About 10 years ago I chopped mine boy short only because I really trusted my hairdresser. I think change is good, y’all are so adorable you can’t do any wrong anyway.

  6. Change is good and I think this cut will look great on you ladies! I keep getting my hair cut shorter and shorter.one of these days will probably get the urge to grow it out again, but right now I love having it short.

  7. I can not wait to see ur hairs! Lol. I truly love changing my style n color religiously. I also have layers n about shoulder length but loads of damn curls haha. Xoxox deanna
