Cabin Fevahhhh!!!!

Necklace/Collar, gifted from Cath; Sweater, Old Navy; Checked  button-up, thrifted here; Jeans, Madewell; Boots, Frye.

Oh I know you guys feel it too, right? Cabin fever! Too many days trying to work from home in my pjs. Working from home always sounded dreamy to me until I realized, without much human interaction, my personal hygiene deteriorates much more quickly than it should. I ventured out Wednesday – cautiously (crunch, crunch, slip! crunch, crunch, %$@#!) – to go to work.

The good thing about escaping to work? I had to actually get dressed and  put on real people clothes (see photos for proof!).

And today (Friday!) I got to see Cath in for the first time in a week! I’m actually staying over at her place tonight so that we can get up bright and early and go volunteer together for the Martin Luther King Project.

What are you guys up to this weekend? I hope you are all staying warm and safe – and if you are south of the equator, dry and cool.

p.s Wedding Update: I bought my second wedding dress today. Yup. Number deux. It’s not as crazily bridezilla as it sounds (I think/hope). 1) One dress was under $250 and the second was under $400. Shoot! That still sounds excessive. How about 2) I did it for you readers! The more fashion/style, the better, right? So really I bought them for blog research. Legit. Totally. If you ever need a reason to buy something you love because it makes your eyes roll back and your tongue loll, start a fashion blog. Research is a great excuse incredibly valuable.

Oh, and I’ve also figured out (knock wood) what I’ve decided to do wedding-wise. Are you interested in my wedding/elopement plans, readers? Please let me know if you are like “heard one bride story, heard them all.” There will be another Wedding Update installment if this seems interesting to you. Do tell!

  1. I Love Love this look ! I Love the necklace/scarf ? and the black and mint colors together. You look Fab. and I am very interested in your wedding process. I am excited to see the dresses you picked out.

  2. I too had a case of cabin fever this week busy working from home and staying warm. I went out tonight with my Husband and will be doing Movie Night with my kids tomorrow night. I bought lots of Junk Food lol.

  3. Cabin fever is the worst! Winter 2010 when DC got all of that snow is still fresh on my memory.

Love our neck tie and the bright color of your shirt and cardi.

Wedding updates don’t bother me a bit, keep them coming when ever you feel compelled : )

  4. Congrats again!!! And I had an entire week off for Snowmaggedon here in DC. Oyy! But I love the color of your sweater and I want to hear more about your wedding!!! Ahhh excitement! 🙂

  5. girl you know we want to hear it! lol

and i know exactly what you mean. i pretty much wore the same thing all 4 days. and avoided mirrors.

    xx, lin

  6. The one thing I regret about my wedding (I eloped, got married next to a waterfall) was not having a real wedding dress. Considering you spent less than what some brides spend just on their shoes don’t feel bad girl!

  7. Kinda late on this but congratulations on the engagement! I really look forward to seeing what you pick and to see BOTH of your dresses. I expect you will be one stylish lady!

  8. I want to hear more about the wedding.
I think a courthouse wedding is fine.
You can still dress up and have a nice family dinner after.
This blogger had a courthouse wedding, you can check it out here
    http://www.iamstyle-ish.com/2008/09/were-married.html

But she also did a destination wedding.
For sure, for me I would like a courthouse wedding or something low key.
I would be happier and more comfortable that way.

  9. Tell tell tell! I loooove wedding stuff! Plus I plan on buying vintage/used for my own wedding dress, so I’m very interested in what you’re doing:)

  10. I totally know what you mean about working from home. I tend to never leave my desk when working from home and then usually feel like crap for staying indoors the entire day, glued to my computer.

Two dresses?! Post pics! And keep the wedding updates coming! They are fun and I can live vicariously through you. 🙂

    xx, becs

  11. I realised that staying in too much is bad for me too and the cabin fever I got was disturbing!

Love the fact that you got two dresses and that it’s for readers/fashion/style 😉

I always used to tell my friends if you have a wedding, have seven dresses and seven pairs of shoes. The more the merrier lol.

  12. Totally blog about ur Wedding day. I think we need a wedding dress montage Post. We readers would love that. 

  13. I love the blue cardi, blue gingham shirt and the little tie. You look so lovely!

Also yes yes yes to more wedding details. Already loving the fact you have 2 dresses, can’t wait to read more about them 🙂

  14. Your outfit is adorable! Love the belted turquoise cardigan, check pattern on the shirt, Peter Pan collar, and the collar.

Two wedding dresses is NOT excessive. Have you been to a Chinese wedding? The amount of food at the banquet is only rivaled by the number of outfit changes that the bride undergoes lol. At all the receptions I’ve been to, the bride usually has a white wedding gown and a red qipao. Is your second dress a qipao? If not, I think you have an excuse to buy a third one! 😀

And yes to more wedding updates! Keep ’em coming.

  15. I LOVE wedding details, so share any and everything you are willing!

By the way I was a year ahead of you and Catherine at ASC and had a spanish lit class with you both one year. I’m really enjoying your blog!
