It’s an Antediluvian Monster. Purse!

I’ve been coveting this purse on the Moxsie website for months now, and finally snagged it. At first glance, I just thought “ooo ginormous leather studs- lovely! rahh!” but in hand they look Jurassic rather than trendy – which I love even more.

So I am now the proud owner of a dinosaur purse. Even better? The inside of this dinosaur looks like a boudoir: purple satin, gold embellishments, a sage green on the Deux Lux label- nice eh? I mean, usually 1930s boudoir and scaly monster don’t coexist, which makes this purse all the more delightful.

And what goes better with dinosaur gray than red orange and brown? (Well many things, like buttercup yellow and light coral, dusky purple, sage green. but my giant mound of laundry sometimes limits possibilities). Tunic/dress (Cath thought it a bit too short- eeps!) is from AA, the vesty thing is I think F21 as is the belt which I pulled off another F21 tunic, and the boots are Frye.

ps- You know how I was going on and on about hating to wear my glasses (see them in my left hand), here’s another reason for my disgruntled glasses-wearing disposition: I can’t take a good photo in them. They reflect the light and I look kind of eye-less.creepy. So in all my outfit posts from now on, you’ll probably see them tucked somewhere but not on my face. P.S. you guys had some terrific comments on the glasses post– thanks so much for the spec support 😉

A little side note about sponsorships and ads on AsianCajuns.com:
Some of you readers might notice that Moxsie also has a neat little ad in our side column. We’ve been fans of Moxsie for years. We love supporting independent designers, and we love that a percentage of each purchase goes to a charity of your choosing. We were glad they wanted to be a sponsor of sorts (we don’t get moola unless someone clicks on the ad and buys something). But if any of you are ever wondering if we promote something on our blog because we’ve been given something for free- we’ll let you know in the post and still give an honest to goodness review of it. I paid full price for this lovely purse monster, and I still think it’s the bees knees.

  2. Lar. that purse is total awesomeness. I love the HUGE leather studs detail, even more awesomeness! :).and if you ask me, that tunic isn’t short at all. You’re a little hottie with a body, rock it girlie! And thanks for introducing me to Moxie, never heard of it until now! Yipeeee. I’m gonna hop on over and see what I can get without doing too much damage to my bank account. 🙂

    xx Love & Aloha

p.s. Happy Momma’s Day to your momma! 🙂 HUGS.

  3. I love everything in this outfit. I really do. That purse, the orange + grey drapey vest. EVERYTHING.

You always manage to put together the most unexpected and eclectic, yet totally amazing ensembles. I’m so jealous.

  4. Wow that purse is awesome, and your outfit goes so well with it! And as for the allergies, I totally feel you on that wearing glasses when its super bright outside is not fun, but its better than having swollen eyes at work 🙁

  5. I love this bag! I snagged it over winter at the LF store in Soho and I wore it NON STOP for months. Just wanted to warn you though, watch out for the little tips of the studs. Since it just has a thin layer of “leather” on it it easily scratches off so you end up with small patches gone on the ends of the studs 🙁 but nothing black shoe polish won’t fix!

ps. I’m every sorry but I met one of you guys briefly outside of Brickstore in Decatur on Saturday during lunch and I’m not sure who it was, but you commented on my Jeffrey Campbell Mary Roks and it made me gush 🙂 Teehee, I told my boyfriend right after that, “LOOK! Asian Cajuns like my shoes!” (he doesn’t understand the shoes or fashion blogs, so the moment was lost on him.but hey! great to meet you!

  6. Oooh I love the dino interpretation of this bag. The texture looks awesome! Deux Lux bags this season are so hot!! I wish I wasn’t on a purse ban. Sigh.
