Farm Burgerlicious

For some reason people always assume Lar and I are vegetarian (do we look extra pale for our AsianCajun heritage?!), but we’re pretty far from it and we were stoked when Farm Burger opened up this week in downtown Decatur. They serve amazing burgers made from grassfed beef and locally sourced produce.

We had to wait in line for about 40 minutes before ordering, but it was well worth it. I loved my burger. The homemade pickle was perfection – not too vinegary or too sweet.

Boater hat from Nasty Gal, Bitten button-up, American Apparel skirt, Dolce Vita shoes.

I thought my straw boater and denim shirt were appropriate “farm” restaurant wear. Is it sad that I dress according to the theme of a restaurant? Either way, the piggies in the photo on the wall seemed to like my hat.

I think Lar’s bf Matt also had a great outfit for the restaurant too, although I’m pretty sure he didn’t plan it out like I did. Matt built an amazing burger: swiss cheese, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, mushrooms and spinach. Delicious.

Needless to say, I think Lar and I will be coming back soon – at the very least to try the adult floats like vanilla porter with root beer, nom, nom, nom.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Did any of you Atlantans head over to the Inman Park Festival today? Our friend George had an awesome party at his Inman Park house today and you couldn’t have asked for better weather after such a rainy Saturday.

  1. Everyone walking into work keeps buzzing about this place!! I know one of the chefs through like three degrees of separation and keep meaning to go. I missed the festival between the rain and work, but am grateful I did not get caught in the downpour on Saturday!

  2. I have to try this! I just won the “where is the beef award” at my job. not so sure this is a good thing as it means I consume the most meat at my job per week – funny none the less. (most co-workers are vegitarians!). Love the target dress below and oddly reading “The Charleston Ripper” – which in no way represents my usual type reads. lets say I am surfing outside the box! ha ha

  3. As a vegetarian.Farm Burger is Awesome!! The veggie burger is one of the best I’ve had in Atlanta! .and the onion rings.YUM!

  4. This place sounds great! Can’t wait to try it next time I’m in Decatur. I’m a huge fan of grass-fed meats. and that homemade pickle sounds amazing. (Oh, and I never thought you two were vegetarians — you guys are meat LOVERS! 🙂

  5. I LOVE coordinating outfits with the restaurant themes. Sometimes I look up pictures of the restaurants (if it’s a nice place), so I can dress in a flattering color. Hehe.

  6. Good burgers are like manna from heaven. I totally made a friend of mine take me to their favorite burger spot in New York. (shake shack is the jam!) The boater hat is so dope.

  7. u look adorable! haha i DON’T think it’s sad to plan ur outfit based on a restaurant’s theme!:) i think i’ve done it, too haha!

  8. Oh, wow– Julia & I must’ve gone on different days! My veggie burger was SO incredibly bad (taste & texture like a grainy mashed potato patty– no exaggeration). I thought it might have just been undercooked, but even a 2nd run-through, when one of the owners personally took my burger back & brought out a brand new one, was still awful. Still, I really liked FB– their fries were bangin’, and I’ve heard really good things about their veggie-friendly collards (plus, the above-mentioned floats.mmm). The spousal unit loves him some grass-fed beef, so the one snafu won’t keep us from returning. Would love it if they’d work that veggie thing out, though!

  9. Nom nom! I love a good burger and it’s great that you both do too! I love the outfit and that you’re wearing a cute little hatI still don’t think I am a hat person but I really want a little boater for the summer. I guess I just have to find the right one!

Hope you’re both having a gorgeous day!!

  10. Hey Caaaath, need your last name for the giveaway (they need it to complete the order or whatev) please send to gmail email, thanks!

  11. I love that you dress for the theme of the restaurant. It was very “farm” appropriate. My friend is taking a month EMT wilderness course. When I found out, I ran to buy her a buffalo plaid button up. Dress up is fun.

  12. LOL, I wouldn’t say pale that’s for sure. I think it’s because you girls look amazing and healthy, like you really take care of yourselves and don’t junk out 🙂
