Court of Two Sisters

larstyle_logo_rev

So there are definitely major tourist traps all over New Orleans. I guess Court of Two Sisters could be considered one of those overpriced restaurants- but even when it’s over run with tourist (like moi), you should go. The food is good. Really good. Shrimp etouffee, eggs benedict, bread pudding, pecan pie, delicious omelets with anything you want in them and on them (including shrimp creole and chives)- seriously, this is the place to stuff yourself silly with cajun/creole food. Did I mention it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet?

That’s why I wore this jersey dress- plenty of room to expand. And teeny polka-dots are slimming, right? (Those photos at the bottom: I did that little dance pre-buffet. I wasn’t moving around nearly that much post-buffet. Le ooff).

And to answer some of your questions:

1) Cath and I will most certainly write up a list (with tantalizing photos) of all the things you must do when you visit New Orleans.

2) Brad Pitt is not actually running for mayor down here, but the idea is very popular. The best place to buy tees in the city (including “Brad Pitt for Mayor” tees) can be found outside of the Quarter on Magazine Street at a place called Storyville. They also have an online store here.

3) Oh and we love vacation photos on fellow bloggers’ blogs (Japan! France! Hong Kong!), but I find it hard to know whether these NOLA photos are interesting to everyone or just us. So we’ll keep ’em coming πŸ˜‰ Thanks for all the sweet comments, bebes!

  1. Adorable! I had brunch at the Court of Two Sisters a few weeks ago and I’ve never been so stuffed! I noticed a picture that you took a few days ago in a bookstore in the quarter. If you like used bookstores, my favorite one is Arcadian Books at 714 Orleans Ave, just up from Royal St. If you’re in the area for a few more days, it’s definitely worth a look! Also, have you been to the Gumbo Shop yet? My favorite shrimp poboys and etouffee in the city!

    1. Hi Kelsey! Thanks so much for the tips! We just got back to the ATL, but we will most certainly check out that book store next time we go back! And we actually ate at the Gumbo Shop the first night we were there- we loooooved it!

  2. All you can eat? Yes please! And Lar, please tell me these shots are before you “expanded”.if not, no fair! Yay for jersey and other stretchy fabrics that aren’t too clingy – so perfect for big delicious meals. You are way cute! And I love your necklace and boots – I die!

  3. Sooo, I’ve just spent the last 10 mins catching up on your blog. I”ve ALWAYS wanted to visit NOLA and I’m still bummed I never got a chance to go before the hurricane. I’ve since wondered if it’s still worth visiting? I know there are still signs of destruction around, but I figure they could do with my touristm money and the images you have posted really show how beautiful the city still is. I’m a sucker for their architecture and I love the food.

Awesome dress by the way! It looks so comfortable but chic at the same time! Glad you guys are having such a terrific time πŸ™‚ Oh, and please keep the pics coming!

  4. UGH! I WAS UTTERLY DELIGHTED WHEN I VISITED AND SAW ALL OF THESE MAGNIFICENT PHTOTOS!! AND maaad kudos for the “ya-ya” in one of the earlier posts!! i was actually thinking of it (the movie) when i was looking at the pics!

  5. I seriously may put up with the heat for a legit buffet. Although I think sometimes I may get competitive when it’s all you can eat.

ps. you could totally rock a fjallraven (OC had it a little cheaper than context-I’m an enabler), it’s like a girl who drives a muscle car-the girliness juxtaposed with the bag makes it, right?

  6. Hey, you’re overdue for a post. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for your sweet comments, Lar! I actually wish I get that award again.not to be greedy.just cause there’s a few more I’d love to give it too πŸ™‚

    Happy weekend, hon!
