Summer Wedding in Denver

Dear Lar,

It’s so good to be back from Denver! Don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of fun, but the seven hour difference between Denver and Edinburgh was too much! I’m so glad I live on the east coast or we’d never get to talk to each other.

Now, as promised, here are some photos of the dress I wore to the wedding. It’s a Michael Kors dress I got at Marshalls in Buckhead. The best part about it? The dress is a knit so it doesn’t wrinkle at all! I rolled it into a tiny ball and packed it in my suitcase. No ironing required.

I ended up being a little overdressed at the wedding. People are very casual in Denver – something I’m not used to. You know what else about Denverites (Denverians?)? They’re the nicest, friendliest people I’ve ever met. Troy and I even made a list of all the nice things that complete strangers said or did for us in Denver because we knew we’d never remember them all.

I use the Claire Vivier clutch you got me all the time – it goes with everything! And remember that mesh hair doughnut I bought when we went to Primark together? It makes the perfect bun and is so much easier to use than a sock. I must use it at least three times a week.

In my next post I’ll show you what I wore to go hiking one of the days I was in Colorado. My outfit wasn’t nearly as impractical as you’d think!

Now that we’re only 5 hours apart again let’s do lots of Skyping this weekend, okay?

xoxo, Cath

  1. CATH, you look beeeeyotiful!!! I LOVE that dress — it’s exactly as you described it and it looks just perfect! I’m so glad you put my cuff and shoes to good use — I swear you really do wear all my stuff better than I did. And the turquoise and orange Viv clutch makes me wish I had that combo in my closet somewhere.
One day I’ll have to make it to more than just the Denver airport — and I want to see the list you made 😉 People in Edinburgh are very nice once you get them talking, but fairly reserved before that.
Can’t wait to skype chat this weekend!
    xoxoxoxo,

    p.s. Great/Gorgeous photos, Troy!

  2. Thanks Lar! The dress was such a last minute find and not usually something I would necessarily be drawn to, but it was perfect for the occasion – apart from the over-dressed-ness 😉 xoxo, cath

    1. I was about to, but I wrote it in short hand and it looks terrible. Want an example? Troy and I were trying to figure out what song was playing at a bar we went to so he held up his phone while using the Shazam app. The app didn’t work, but less than five minutes later the manager comes up to us, saying she saw we were trying to figure out the song and she had written the artist and name down on a piece of paper!

    1. Thanks June! Denver was really a lot of fun. All the great craft beer made it even better 😉

  3. Wowee! You look stunning in that colour! Who cares if you over-dressed, that’s what weddings are for, right? Although, if I was the bride, I would’ve been worried. >_<

  4. Love the entire outfit, but I think you betta, yes betta, hide that bag. I am a purse #$#%* (too hot for blogging). Ha–fill in with the exploitative of your choice or the word: darn! 🙂
