It is far too hot in Atlanta even in the fall to wear this type of faux animal on your head, but somehow it ties this outfit together nicely (or I just like playing dress-up when I get home from a long day at the office).
This outfit came about because I was stuck as to what to do with this Tracy Feith sweater. I bought it this summer at Tarjay and imagined me wearing it over a bikini after a long day of surfing, snuggled up to my bf on the beach in front of a bonfire. I live about five hours from the closest beach, I can’t swim (waves scare the bejesus out of me when I’m standing on the beach), and very few beaches let you do the whole fire on the sand thing. So this sweater got a lot of use, obviously. Enter fall, and fall colors! Orange and browns and creams.
And then I just happen to have this Russian Doll pillow that wears the same orange- hence the non sequitur post title! Woohoo for whimsy!
I also like to dance a jig after the long work day. My neighbors below hate me and my boots.
This is what I actually looked like – I left the pillow and hat at home for the day.
Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
ps- Thanks for all the sweet comments about the Over-the-Knee boots! You guys make my week!! You’ll see them a lot come winter. and perhaps sooner for Halloween. Lady Gaga fans, anyone?
love the sweater. you’re reminded me that I need more of those for work
I like the hat! And yes to the Gaga.
I totes bought a Gaga wig for Halloween. Ahhh that hat is so awesome. Every now and then I wish Atlanta had a real Fall season so accessories like that could be more practical.
I hate this schizophrenic weather. It’s driving me up the wall. I can’t figure out if I should be pulling out my winter clothes or stop boxing up my summer clothes. Insanity!
This outfit is stunning! I love the fall colors, those amazing boots, and, of course, the crazy hat. It’s just about cold enough for that hat here in Chicago now. 🙁
Who doesn’t love a good non sequitur and a furry hat? That sweater looks perfect for fall (even if your ‘fall’ is the wimpy southern version).
ps. I love 2 fat ladies!! So awesome that you mentioned that show.used to watch it all the time!
pps. I was afraid to try the coffee, to tell you the truth, but I bet it was fauxtastic.
Your hat is fab my dear and I love your choice of outfit, this Tracy Feith sweater was an excellent buy!! Have a great weekend!
Ahh I’m in love with your hat!!! I just bought one similar to that but sadly it’s been wayyyy too hot in DC! Booo.
awesome outfit!
my mom has the same hat, she loves it.
I like your boots too.
Kisses!!
You’re kidding — I would wear this sweater 24/7 if I had it! I am crazy about stripes. 🙂
The fur hat is really cool, by the way. now all you need is some nice Northeast weather! I could have used an outfit like that during the past week.
Love the outfit! I almost bought that sweater this summer, but I wasn’t sure how I’d wear it. You look great!
Also, PLEASE wear those boots for Halloween! You’d make a great Lady GaGa!!!
looks awesome with those boots too!!!!
Sooo cute, I love the hate with it all though, its adorable!!!!!! Its colorful and fun and playful, totally like you (from what I see). xoxo, cuteness as usual!
opps I meant hat, not hate.sorry!
I’ve bought many an item for imagined scenarios, and such a “to be worn after a long day on the beach sweater” has entered my collection at least once. I live relatively close to the ocean, but I don’t go to the beach often, so.yeah. I get that.
you look so lovely!!! and the russian doll is cute!!! super kawaii!
You’re the cutest thing since mini cupcakes! The little jig also made me giggle. And yes, I heart Lady Gaga.or as S calls her.Lady Kaka.
xx
I have a love affair with Russia and Russian history. And I love how you have been rocking the sweater vest. I have one that I don’t wear nearly enough.
SO I completely dig the faux fur hat wish I could pull that off! It goes so well with your whole look!
