Slasher

It’s another Friday, lovely readers! Woohoo! I hope you all have wonderful and/or relaxing weekend plans. I’m hoping to hole-up for a bit with my bf and eat some delicious food stuffs.

What do you ladies and gents think of this dress below? I bought it at UO on sale earlier this summer and thought it was the perfect summer dress. I tired it on in the deceptive low-lights of the UO dressing rooms- perfect! lovely! couldn’t be happier! I tried it on at home and realized then that it was quite see-through. Boo. My somewhat successful (read: ghetto) solution was to stick a matching halter under it and wear a nude colored body stocking thingy. Not exactly the perfect summer outfit when you have to add a few layers to it. However in the photo below, I look quite pleased with my “ingenuity”/I blinked.

Even with it’s high maintenance tendencies, I still kind of love it because of the slashing action in the back. Also, as Fall creeps up on us, I’m clinging onto summer in any way I can- and you can’t mistake this dress for autumnal- even with the layers. This is a salt-breezes, sun-on-your-skin, toes-in-the-sand kind of dress. The last hurrah of summer!

p.s. Any readers from Milwaukee? Cath is there this weekend on a business trip. I miss ya, KitCath! Bring me back some cheese, please πŸ˜‰

  1. Oooh I love it a lot! Too bad you had to stick some layers on it so it was more wearable but we’re heading into fall so I guess you would have to do this eventually anyway! The colour is lovely and it even perfectly matches the blog!

  2. I do like the outfit. I could never wear it, so higher kudos for you, Lar.

BTW, I added you back to the blog roll! I changed my layout back to the bird theme just so your link would show up!
    xo.

  3. This is different. In a good way. Usually, I only see slashed clothing that is black, white, or gray. It is very refreshing seeing it done on such a great hue as this.

  4. I would be shocked at the surprising sheerness too! I bet it would work with a contrasting tube dress underneath too. Or maybe a fun colored slip. The color is great on you though!

  5. I just realized today that I hadn’t read any Asian Cajuns in a LONG time and just found that I hadn’t added your new blog to google reader!! I’m happy to see you are still blogging frequently and that it was only my mistake πŸ™‚

Hope you’re having a good weekend!

  6. There are a lot of sheer & see-through things around currently. And I’m always making the same mistake as you. It’s so fantastic! The colour is so shockingly icy, and the exit – what a surprise!

  7. great dress and solution! i love the color too! so sad that summer’s over πŸ™ hope you’re having a great weekend holed up. i was holed up watching college football with my bf today since it was cloudy here by the beach!

  8. Love the dress but I understand the see-thru angst. Nothing worse than seeing that it’s see-thru and having to problem solve with your grandmother’s ankle-length slip from 1967. Obviously, your solution is much chicer.
