So we AsianCajuns have mentioned the AJC Decatur Book Festival quite a few times over the years. Namely here, here, here, here and here. Needless to say, we’re big fans of the Labor Day weekend event and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever.
Lots of fun, new stuff going on including the following 2009 book festival creatures (developed by the uber creative peeps at Lenz Marketing):
Click on the image to enlarge.
L to R: Bookzilla, Mighty Carl Jung, Read-an, me (not a book fest creature), Bookwurm and Authora.
Other festival highlights include Sir Harold Evans as the keynote, over 150 authors, a dedicated teen venue, pickled okra contest, a mariachi brunch, a dance about verbs and adverbs, an author wrestling legendary professional wrestler Abdullah the Butcher and a Eudora Welty tribute performed by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Caroline Herring, Kate Campbell and Claire Holley.
Plus, plus! we’ll be tweeting about all these events throughout the weekend and hanging out, posting posts at the Decatur Book Festival blogger tent on Saturday from 11 to noon and 2 to 3 p.m. So for you non-Atlantans, you can still feel like you’re at the book festival by staying posted to AsianCajuns. Word.
Soo cool. I wish I lived in Georgia, I would definitely stop by your Blogger tent!!!
omg that photo is phenomenal! I enlarged 😉 lol
