Hot Hot Heat

After a long day of work do you know what’s the best thing to eat? A bowl of banana pudding. Pudding, ‘Nilla wafers, and homemade whipped creme. The perfect summer dessert for a hot summer’s day. Cures work/school grumps in minutes- I swear! It worked like a charm after work yesterday.

This dress is kind of like banana pudding. It’s super light weight jersey (very comfy), one-shouldered and covers enough to be work worthy- so essentially the perfect dress for a hot summer’s day (it’s on sale for $35 at Shopbop). I spruced it up with some gold accessories. Below is a closer shot of the June Shin necklace I wore with it.

Dress by LNA, shoes are from Cinti in Florence, belt is Target and bracelet (made from recycled metal) is from Evolve Boutique in Decatur, necklace is by June Shin.

No Stars Just Stripes

Scoutmob happened to offer a 50% off coupon for Squash Blossom Boutique on our birthday and I took that as a sign that I should buy something. That’s only logical, right? Lar got some really cute sandals and I ended up buying this striped, ruffly shirt. The coupon was clearly meant to be.

The shirt is very light-weight, black and white (well, cream) stripes and tunic length so I’ll be able to mix it up a bit with future outfits. It was the perfect summer top for our July 4th picnic with the family: hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, 5-cup salad, brownies and watermelon.

Outfit details: Boater hat from Nasty Gal, Mystree shirt from Squash Blossom Boutique, Urban Outfitter shorts, Dolce Vita shoes, leash from the Animal Rescue Shelter and our family dog Boo Radley.

My favorite part of the outfit:

My bf made me this necklace for my birthday and I LOVE it. He knows I’m a huge Wizard of Oz fan (Lar and I have both been fans since we were 2) and couldn’t find anything Oz related that wasn’t super cheesy. So he cleverly made the pendant and attached the silver himself. I think he should have his own DIY blog!

My Kind of Nature

We spent 4th of July up in Dahlonega, Georgia with our lovely family and bfs barbecuing and eating s’mores. This isn’t much of an outfit (t-shirt and shorts- come on, Lar!), but I had to take a picture with the canoes. Cath had a much cuter outfit on which she’ll show you tomorrow.

I did accessorize though! The leather bracelet on the far left and the turquoise necklace are from NOVICA, whom I now love, love, love. I plan to use them in the future to buy unique gifts for loved ones. Each package is carefully wrapped and as gorgeous as whatever you buy, and it’s all super-reasonably priced.

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Birthday Suit

We spent most of our birthday at work, but we took a long lunch at Brick Store and then went shopping at Squash Blossom (hi, Jinah!). Cath was wearing one of her prezies from moi. Doesn’t she look great in this vintage dress from Ramona West?!

Dress from Ramona West, shoes are Dolce Vita, vegan bag from Vivid Boutique in Decatur.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Everyone! So so sweet! It made our day!

ps- For those of you who asked, our mom was not expecting twins the day she delivered us. They pulled out Cath and I popped out 30 seconds later.
