High-waisted shorts

I’m still pretty stoked that high-waisted things came back into style. I know they aren’t for everyone, but for a petite lady who would sometimes like to fool the eye to look taller, I’m pleased as punch when I put on a pair of shorts like these. The additional beauty to these is that they are made of lycra and cotton- all stretch, but still chic in seamless black. Now why is this so alluring? Well, the only drawback that high-waisted pants and shorts that I’ve discovered is they don’t encourage eating. And I like to eat. I really do. In my high-waisted jeans I’m often at the mercy of that upper-button (or two or three) and they don’t stay fastened through dessert- very ladylike, I know.

With these deceptively chic babies, I can eat creme brulee until the cows come home. Now tell me that’s not the perfect pair of shorts: leg lengthening and dessert-friendly. Just the way I like my bottoms.

  1. Ohhh love the shorts, they make your legs look so fabulously long!!! PLUS you can eat all you want. I’d probably live in shorts like those if I had pair! πŸ™‚

  2. Hot! I love the combination of the shorts and heels–your legs go on for days. And I’m all for bottoms that let you eat as much as you want and still be comfortable. πŸ™‚

  3. You’re looking fab! I wish I could find flattering high waisted shorts but alas, no such luck! They actually do make your legs look longer:)

  4. Funny, I don’t have any highwaisted pants and I still have the button problem.

and anyone who doesn’t like to eat probably won’t get a long with me very well

  5. those shorts look great on you! i find that high wasited things give me long, granny bum. or jessica simpson in those horrible high wasited jeans that made her look like a hippo. oy vey

  6. High waisted pants are my friend.I have such a long torso that anything low (which, let’s face it, is everything in my closet) makes my legs look even shorter. I just got high-waisted skinnies by accident (long story) and I’m warming up to them. I just really have to be careful with the thigh area – camel toe is not good.

  7. Oh I just love this outfit!
And “pleased as punch”oh my I love it and am going to have to steal.errr borrow it.
And those shoes.Lar, you must stop taunting me. Only kidding of course, if I managed to snag a pair I would wear them every chance I get πŸ™‚

  8. You look so chic!! I love anything high-waisted!! You have a gorgeous, proportional figure so you look great in everything πŸ™‚ xxoxoxoxo

  9. Lar– I love the chic little tied-up shirt and shorts combo! So cute. I never think to tie up my shirts like that. Now I’m all inspired! xx P.S. I’m updating my blogroll to add your new AsianCajuns address. LOVE what you’ve done with the new place!!!

  10. thanks for the encouragement on selling the necklace. i see that there is competition out there. hmmm i may post it on etsy and see how it goes πŸ˜‰

  11. I have a pair of high waisted jeans that I bought two years ago. I’ve worn them once, I think, for the same reasons that you cited above. I can’t stand going to a restaurant and watching other people eat while I sip water. It makes me want to kill.

  12. Hey Lauren! You look so chic love the whole outfit. And I agree that the high-waisted shorts makes you look taller. Though I just wore my one and only pair of high-waisted jeans yesterday and I was reminded just how uncomfortable those are in the stomach area, esp. after lunch. πŸ™‚

Thanks for letting me know about your revolving header as well. It’s so cool!
